PTT 0503 - EASTERN ETHIOPIA HARAR & AWASH
(7 DAYS/6 NIGHTS)
Day 1:
Arrive in Addis Ababa to a warm welcome by PTT staff at the airport, and then
transfer to your hotel. Morning will be free. Afternoon, start your sightseeing tour
of Addis Ababa, starting your tour from the Trinity Cathedral, visit to the
National Museum (archaeological and historical), which has the best collection of
Ethiopian antiquities and archeological discoveries, including the famous oldest
hominid “Lucy”; then drive up to Mt. Entoto, the highest part of the capital, where
you will have a panoramic view over the town of Addis Ababa; a visit to the adjacent
church of St. Mary; a drive down to the biggest open air market in East Africa
called Mercato.
Drive back to the hotel for overnight.
Day 2:
Drive to Awash National Park through the very interesting farm land of Bale Region. Lunch will be served on the way in lunch boxes.
Overnight at hotel or camping.
Day 3:
Full day game drive in the Awash National park where you will see low land animals. Lunch will be served in lunch boxes. In the afternoon, proceed to the hot spring.

Day 5:
Drive to Harar via the very interesting towns of Awash and Ashebe Teferi. Overnight will be at Bleayneh Hotel.
Day 6:
Full day city tour in Harar. In the morning, you will visit the wall of Harar called Geol, and the open air market of Harar Megala Gudu, where you will see the very colorful Harari people and the camel caravan. In the afternoon, you will visit the Harari Museum and the famous French artist house (Artier Rimbaud House). In the evening, you will go out to see for yourself the daring acts of hyena feeding by fearless men.
Overnight in Harar.
Day 7:
Drive back to Addis Ababa. On the way you will visit the crater lakes at Metahara and Debre Zeit, which is quite famous for its bird life.
Overnight at a hotel in Addis Ababa.
